Micah’s (name meaning, “who is like God?”) verses:
“Who is a God like you,
who pardons sin and
forgives the
transgression
of the remnant of his
inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever
but delight to show mercy.
You will again have compassion
on us;
you will tread our sins
underfoot
and hurl all our iniquities
into the depths of the
sea.”
who pardons sin and
forgives the
transgression
of the remnant of his
inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever
but delight to show mercy.
You will again have compassion
on us;
you will tread our sins
underfoot
and hurl all our iniquities
into the depths of the
sea.”
~Micah 7: 18,19 (NIV)
Sin, anger, iniquity…these verses may seem harsh or cheerless but to me they are an ultimate source of hope as God’s saving grace, the only means by which we can have true life, is expressed in clear and concise terms. Oh that our son will grow up to stand in awe of God’s love and mercy and proclaim, “who is like my God!”
I didn’t know that’s what his name meant…beautiful=)
Micah 6:8 used to be one of my favorite sunday school songs to sing – “who has shown thee, oh man, what is good and what the Lord requires of thee. But to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God.”
Corrie Ten Boom’s favorite words were “Christ is victor!” (ie. the victorious one)…Victor over the sond of his people!
uh oh…my typing skills…sins of his people!!!
