Ellie's Day

A few shirts I found for Ellie at the Salvation Army store yesterday for $1 each!

Because I have seen the way Amelia’s home coming has been particularly hard for Ellie to adjust to, I decided while Rick is still home for the week, I should seize the opportunity to go out for a mother-daughter date with her. So momentarily, we will go to get a cookie at a nearby bakeshop and then go to Lulu’s, a toy store down the street that also does children’s haircuts. Poor Ellie desperately needs a cut with some shape to it so her little face doesn’t get covered so, she will get her first “professional” haircut today! We’ll see how it works out!:)

Since Amelia sleeps well between feedings, I can safely leave her at home with Rick. This will afford Ellie and I a little while at least…I look forward to spending this time with my almost 2 year old!

P.S. Thank you all for the suggestions on my last post. As some of you suggested, I am going to try having books and toys nearby when I am nursing Amelia.

And, because I couldn’t resist…

Our little Amelia before her first doctor’s appointment yesterday, where we found out she has gained back her birth weight plus some! She’s 5 lbs, 8 ozs now!

Sporting some preemie clothing a friend of mine gave me that belonged to her daughter, who was born a month early!

Micah and I had fun watching her "in the tent" in the back :)

I'm the youngest, so I can't speak to transitioning to a new sibling first-hand. But it sounds like you are doing a wonderful job of being sensitive to Ellie and all the changes. The shirts you found are adorable, too. :)
