This past weekend looked a little like this:
Friday
Micah’s sweet pal Ellie M. came over for a sleepover…a first sleepover experience for both of them and quite the success! Micah was a gentleman, letting Ellie sleep in his bed while he slept on the floor. The sweetest moment of the night was when I sang “Jesus Loves Me” to them at bedtime and they both fell asleep!
Saturday morning
Rick took Micah and Ellie to the library and playground, leaving me with some time to exercise…and the kids got some much needed physical activity of their own! Mommy was very thankful!
Saturday Evening
Knock, knock. We were surprised to have our street friend Hector and his girlfriend Marlene drop by our apartment but happy to treat them to some coffee and hang out with them for a while! We have known Hector for a few years now after meeting him outside our local grocery store. He may be homeless but he is so full of life and love…I know God brought him into our lives for a reason and I pray we will be faithful in our calling to be a loving, Christian example to him! These people NEED love!
Saturday Evening (after kids were tucked in)
Rick and I had a sweet date night, preparing a yummy meal together and enjoying each other’s company! On the menu was fried green tomatoes, delicious squash soup and salad with sliced tomatoes and pine nuts. Yum!

That is so sweet that you got pics of Micah and Ellie sleeping. That’s rare at this age! I just love seeing pictures of kids in their jammies.
I love how Hector just drops in and surprises you from time and time. And I love that you let him do so!
Those tomatoes look absolutely disgusting. Did they taste any good?
they do look rather gross but if you’ve never had fried green tomatoes – so good!!
Looks like a great weekend! You look awesome! I wonder if we made the same squash soup:)
What a varied life! “Hi” to Hector! Mom
