Christmas 2010, Hospital-ity

Here are some pictures of our make-shift Christmas. Christmas morning we brought the Challies traditional Christmas breakfast and stockings to the hospital. The nurses looked after Amelia so Susanna could come back home for a couple hours of opening gifts and eating Christmas dinner. It wasn’t what we envisioned, but it all worked out to be a great day.

An update on Amelia – as you can see she’s her usual chipper, smiley self and doing well. She’s gained about 1/2 pound so far. There are no new tests or results yet, she will receive an MRI to check neurological functions on Tuesday. We hope to have a fairly clear picture after that of what the path forward looks like. With the feeding tube she is not feeling hungry and so not showing interest in eating, she that will be a big challenge to conquer once we come off the feeding tube. Thank you everyone for your prayers, visits, and well wishes. We’ll probably still be in the hospital most of this week so feel free to stop in.

I showed your pictures to Josh. He was glad to see that Elle liked the doll. He is sad that Amelia is in the hospital but happy you all got snow to play in. He liked seeing pictures of Micah in the knight costume.

  7. Christmas is about being with family and about love and sharing. It doesn’t matter whether it’s in a hospital or in a home. It’s all a state of mind and it appears that you have made the most of the situation you have been faced with. We all love you and we are all thinking of you.
    All our love, Shannon xo

    Hi!

So glad to know that you are home again. I saw your FB post about her stomach bug. We will continue to pray for her recovery and that she will gain weight soon as well as peace and rest for you and your family.

On another note, so glad to see all the smiles and Christmas cheer on your blog despite the circumstances. Also, I can’t believe Amelia has blonde hair! You never know what God will create : ) So precious!

    God’s love, Kim
