Two Canadian Girls

How could I know after moving to Brooklyn that one of my closest mom friends would be a fellow Canadian…we went to the same summer camp, Pleasant Bay, growing up (though in different years), are familiar with the same haunts in Eastern Ontario (Crosby, Westport, Kingston, etc) and both miss our homeland.

But, with our half-Canadian children, we can reminice about the place we wish we could visit more often and I can find encouragement in the mother Mel is…she is patient, thoughtful and encouraging, consistantly focused on a gospel-centered approach to mothering.  She and her husband are giving themselves to a work here that I know will bear much fruit and make a lasting, kingdom impact in this city of spiritual darkness.

And we think our eldest children would be the perfect couple…would it be wrong to set up an arrangement we often wonder?!;)  Micah and Ellie Martin…a perfect pair!  We will see what God has in store for these two!:)

With a sing along time in the park, fun at the playground and a picnic, another day is passed, spent well in the great outdoors!

I want to share a bible verse I have drawn much comfort from:

“Then I said, “I will appeal to this, to the years of the right hand of the Most High.  I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old.  I will ponder all your work, and mediate on your mighty deeds.  Your way, O God, is holy.  What god is great like our God?”  – Psalm 76:10-13

Sounds like a great day! Just a reminder that your kids are fully Canadian – as much so as you are, in the eyes of the law! They are priviliged to have two countries to consider home!
